A Step in The Right Direction!!!!

Cambridge United today took a vital 3-0 victory over conference rival Woking at the Abbey Stadium.

Two goals from Robbie Simpson, and one for comeback boy Danny Brown sealed a much needed win, with a much improved performance.

Five changes from the 3-1 defeat at Rushden included Paul Crichton being dropped in favour of Shane Herbert for an alleged breach of club discipline, which is believed to be a complaint from United fans about him using foul and abusive language to them in response to crowd banter.

The result not only ended the clubs 6 game losing streak (Peterborough lost 1-0 at Lincoln by the way, so that will be 8 losses on the bounce for the 'Chelsea' of League 2!! See you next year boys!), but also gave boss Jimmy Quinn some much needed breathing space, with the news on Thursday that his position was being reviewed on a game by game basis by Lee Power.

United remain in the relegation zone in 22nd place, but with the fact that 13th place Forest Green are only 6 points ahead, the league is very tight, and a good un with a couple of wins sould see United climb up the table.
